Publication: “Holistic Labour Market Matching: Boosting immigrant retention, EU competitiveness, and growth” (2025)

Writing for the International Centre on Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), Radboud Reijn and Craig Damian Smith explain how algorithmic matching supports the goals of attracting and retaining skilled migrants - a cornerstone of Europe’s growth and innovation potential. Holistic matching can enhance talent retention, reduce barriers for employers, and broaden the scope of destinations. 


Impact Report: “Community Sponsorship as an Integration and Inclusion Accelerator” (2024) 

Pairity’s evaluation of the HIAS Welcome Circle community sponsorship program for displaced Ukrainians highlights our MEL services. We collected multi-methods primary data from sponsors, displaced people, and HIAS staff across 18 US states and 11 European countries, and analyzed existing program data. The report provides evidence for best practices, project outcomes, and sustainability and scaling.

An example of Pairity’s commitment to longitudinal research. Ukrainian participants in the Re:Match program illustrate that households resettled using Pairity’s matching systems exceed averages of similar populations in Germany.

Impact Report: “Re:Match – Relocation via Matching: An Algorithm-based & Equitable Solution for Refugees & Welcoming Municipalities” (2024)

The first Re:Match report describes early project successes using Pairity’s data collection tools and preference-matching algorithms to resettle Ukrainian refugees from Poland to Germany. It highlights our high match efficacy outcomes, and offers key insights into scaling data-driven models to improve solidarity and refugee protection.

Impact Report: “Project Review: Samen Hier Pilot” (2021)

A comprehensive review of Pairity’s first major pilot in four Dutch cities through the Samen Hier (Together Here) program. We matched over 300 refugee newcomers and community sponsors, supporting significant improvement along integration and social cohesion metrics.

Publication: “Data-Driven Matching of Refugees and Cities: An Implementation Guide” (2025)

A practical resource based on our successful Re:Match program for co-designing and implementing data-driven matching between displaced people and municipalities. It describes how ethical matching aligns refugees’ backgrounds, needs, and preferences with services and capacities in reception sites, providing innovative, efficient, and scalable processes.

Impact Report: “Re:Match: 6 Months Results” (2024)

Results 6-months after matching from Pairity’s Re:Match program, which relocated Ukrainian participants to German municipalities. The report provides important insights on how Pairity’s technology and data-driven solutions improve relocation success.


Impact Report: “Welcome Circles in Europe for People Fleeing Ukraine: Key Outcomes & Best Practices” (2023)

Findings from Pairity’s comprehensive external project evaluation for HIAS Europe, drawn from mixed methods research with original surveys, interviews, and focus groups to explore the impact of community sponsorship for Ukrainians across eleven European countries.

Publication: “There’s a Better Way to Manage Refugee Surges” (2025)

Globe and Mail op-ed by Pairity’s Craig Damian Smith and Abdulla Daoud of Montreal’s Refugee Centre, proposing an ethical, data-driven redistribution model to respond to surges in refugee arrivals, meet the needs of smaller cities, towns, and regions, and support Canada’s well-earned reputation for immigration policy innovation.

Publication: “Why Matching Matters: Improving Outcomes in Refugee Sponsorship & Complementary Pathways” (2023)

Craig Damian Smith’s report for the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) explores evidence that data-driven matching in community sponsorship improves integration and social cohesion. It describes how the ethical use of technology and algorithms can overcome barriers to scaling, remove bias and mainstream refugee agency, and facilitate comparative research and high-quality project evaluations.
